Two Hungarian schools received donation from India
Mohammad Hamid Ansari, the Vice-President of India, has donated $15,000 (4 million Ft) to the Hungarian schools on his visit to Hungary.
According to the announcement made by the Secretary of State responsible for social affairs and enablement at the Ministry of Human Capacities on Monday, the Gandhi High School, Dormitory and Elementary Arts School and the Dr. Ambedkar High School, Vocational School, Special School and Primary School have received the financial support in recognition of their decade-long work for the social enablement of Roma students, which donation Samra Hansari, the Vice President’s wife imparted Monday morning at the Amrita Sher-Gil Indian Cultural Centre.
The Gandhi High School, Dormitory and Elementary Arts School was founded in 1994 as the first institute providing school-leaving exams for Roma nationals in Europe. The school does a great job in tending to and educating about the Roma culture thanks to their professional and methodological activities, which are unique in Europe.
The Dr. Ambedkar High School, Vocational School, Special School and Primary School is helping the underprivileged in the small villages of Sajokaza, Hegymeg and Sata in Borsod county with the help of the Buddhist Jai Bhim Community.
